Bob Marshall is a Red Currant fragranced handmade SPA Sulphur mineral soap. Red currant is described as a unique berry fragrance. This crisp and tart fragrance begins with top notes of black and red currants, cassis, and strawberries; followed by a sweet deep floral rose; with base notes of oakmoss and musk. One whiff and you will be Berry happy!

The United States Congress designated the Bob Marshall Wilderness in 1964 and it now has a total of 1,009,356 acres. All of this wilderness is located in Montana and is managed by the Forest Service. The Bob Marshall Wilderness is bordered by the Great Bear Wilderness to the north and the Scapegoat Wilderness to the south. Located in Northwestern Montana on both sides of the Continental Divide, this large complex includes three Wilderness areas: the Great Bear, the Scapegoat, and the Bob Marshall Wilderness. Together the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex makes up an area of more than 1.5 million acres, the third largest in the lower 48 states. Grizzly bear, lynx, wolverine, deer, elk, gray wolf, moose, black bear, mountain lion, mountain goat, and mountain sheep roam about these rugged ridge tops, gently sloping alpine meadows, thickly forested river bottoms and open grass parks. Across this continuous landscape over 1700 miles of trail provide challenges and experiences to satisfy visitors with a wide range of skills. A huge escarpment called the Chinese Wall, a part of the Divide, highlights the Bob Marshall’s vast untrammeled beauty, with an average height of more than 1,000 feet and a length of 22 miles.

Sulphur has been used to treat skin for some 500 years to combat conditions including acne, fungal infections, psoriasis, scabies and eczema. Sulphur was often the active agent in many of the so-called ‘patent medicines’ that became popular in the mid-19th century. Sulphur in soap works to break down the composition of whiteheads and blackheads. Used as a topical treatment in soaps sulphur may ease the inflammation and itching of some skin disorders. Though there is no cure for rosacea, the symptoms can be controlled to some extent by using soap bars that are made from sulphur. Dermatologists also suggest the use of sulphur soap for scabies. Scabies is a parasitic skin infection caused by microscopic mites. It can spread through person-to-person contact. The symptoms of scabies include severe itching and skin rashes. Most anti-scabies medications use sulphur as an ingredient. Sulphur kills these mites and the use of sulphur-based skin care products help in successful treatment of scabies. It has been seen that six weeks of application of the soap is required for the scabies rash to heal.

Made in small batches with rich oils and our local SPA Sulphur Mineral water, cold process soaps are then cured to make our soaps the best handmade soaps around. Cured soaps weigh approximately 4.5 to 5 ounces each. We proudly display the Made in Montana sticker on our soaps.
